The service

## Front, back and French doors, measured and hung properly
A door works harder than any window in the house. It gets slammed, leaned on, kicked shut with a bag of shopping in each hand and left open in the rain. It also has to seal completely when it closes and lock securely every time. Getting that from a UPVC door comes down to two things: a decent profile and a fitter who hangs it square and adjusts it properly before leaving.

We supply and install UPVC front doors, back doors and French doors in Eurocell profile and in premium Rehau profile. Glazing options, panel designs, colours, letterplates, handles and multi-point locking are all specified at survey so nothing is a surprise when the door arrives.

If you are after a solid composite front door rather than UPVC, that is a separate product we also fit, and if you want the whole back of the house opened up, look at aluminium bi-folds. We will tell you which of the three actually suits the opening you have.

### Front doors that no longer seal
Cold hallway, visible daylight at the edge, a lock you have to lift and lean on. Usually the frame or the hinges have moved.

### Back doors onto kitchens and utilities
The hardest-used door in most houses. Worth specifying properly rather than fitting the cheapest thing that fits the hole.

### French doors to a garden or patio
Two opening leaves, so alignment and locking matter more. A badly hung pair will bind within a year.

### Commercial entrances
We take on commercial door installations as well as domestic, quoted on the same clear, itemised basis.

What it costs to leave it

## A door that has dropped is a security problem before it is a comfort problem
People put up with a difficult door for years. They learn the lift-and-shove, they wedge it in summer, they put a draught excluder against the bottom in winter. Meanwhile the actual fault gets worse, and the things it affects are heat, security and the condition of the floor and frame around it.

### Locking that no longer engages fully
If you have to pull the door towards you to throw the lock, the multi-point mechanism is not seating in its keeps. A door in that state is far easier to force.

### Constant draught into the hallway
The hall and stairs act as a chimney for the whole house. A leaking front door pulls warm air out of every room connected to it.

### Water tracking into the threshold
A failed seal at the cill lets rain into the floor structure. On timber that means rot; on a screed it means a damp patch you cannot decorate over.

### The mistakes we get called out to fix

- Adjusting the hinges repeatedly instead of fixing why the door dropped
- Fitting a new door into an old frame that is out of square
- Choosing a glazed panel with no thought to privacy or toughened-glass requirements
- Buying a door on price and getting basic hardware that wears out in two winters
- Ignoring the threshold detail, so the new door leaks in the same place the old one did
- Using an installer with no insurance-backed guarantee behind the workmanship

Case study

## Conservatory replaced with a warm-roof extension
The old conservatory had become unusable. We took it down and built a proper brick extension in its place, finished with an insulated tiled roof, wide bi-fold doors onto the garden and a media wall that makes it the room everyone wants to sit in.

- Old conservatory taken down and cleared
- New brick-built extension in its place
- Insulated tiled warm roof
- Bi-fold doors opening onto the garden
- Media wall with fire and lit display shelves

"We wanted our unusable conservatory knocking down and replaced with a brick-built extension, with bifold doors and a media wall! … The room is extremely light and bright with the bifold doors and lighting. It's so peaceful. Every part of the build is insulated, the roof, floor and the walls which has made the area an extremely warm space. … Their workmanship and attention to detail is first class."

Our process

## Five steps, the same on every job we take on
Step 1

### Inspection
We look at the existing door, frame, threshold and how the opening has moved. Free verbal quote on the spot.

Step 2

### Measured survey
Exact sizes, opening direction, glazing, colour, hardware and lock specification agreed. With the full specification set out in writing at this stage.

Step 3

### Confirmed order
Your door is made to those measurements in Eurocell or Rehau profile. Price fixed at order, minimum 10-week lead time.

Step 4

### Installation
Old door and frame out, new frame fixed square, sealed inside and out, door hung, locking adjusted and tested with you.

Step 5

### Sign-off and guarantee
You operate the door and the lock before we leave, and the installation is registered for the IWA insurance-backed guarantee.

What you get

## The difference a properly fitted job makes

### Locks first time, every time
Multi-point locking correctly aligned to its keeps, tested and adjusted on the day of fitting rather than left for you to live with.

### A hallway that holds its heat
Full-perimeter compression seals and a properly detailed threshold stop the constant draught through the busiest part of the house.

### Weather kept where it belongs
Correct cill and threshold detailing means rain runs away from the building instead of into the floor.

### No repainting, ever
UPVC in Eurocell or Rehau profile holds its finish and cleans with soapy water. There is no annual maintenance job attached.

### Pricing you can trust
A survey, a clear written quote, and a price that never moves once work starts.

### Backed by insurance
Insurance-backed guarantee through IWA on workmanship and frames, Assured registered, full public liability insurance.

In detail

## Door types, profiles and hardware we fit
Every door we install is UPVC in either Eurocell or premium Rehau profile. Within that, the specification changes considerably depending on where the door sits and what it has to do.

### Front doors
The front door sets the appearance of the house and carries most of the security expectation. We specify multi-point locking as standard, and discuss glazing carefully, obscure or clear, how much of it, and whether toughened glass is required by building regulations at that position.

Colour and panel design are chosen at survey. If you want something heavier and more solid than UPVC, we fit composite front doors as a separate product and will happily compare the two honestly.

### Back doors
Back doors take the most abuse in the house: wet coats, dogs, bins, shopping. We tend to steer people towards a simpler, more robust panel arrangement and hardware that will survive it, rather than a delicate glazed design that will not.

Half-glazed and fully glazed backs are both available, with obscure glazing where the door faces a neighbouring property.

### French doors
A pair of outward or inward opening leaves onto a garden or patio. Because both leaves move, the frame has to be dead square and the locking has to be set precisely, or one leaf will start to catch within months.

French doors suit openings where a bi-fold would be overkill or where you want a traditional look. For wider openings, aluminium bi-folds give you far more clear width when open.

### Hardware and security
Multi-point locking, cylinder specification, handles, hinges, letterplates and knockers are all part of the quote rather than an afterthought. Hardware finish is matched across the doors on the property so the front and back do not look like they came from different houses.

The frame fixing is what actually holds the door in place under force. Frames are packed and fixed into sound masonry, not foamed into a gap.

### Residential and commercial
Domestic doors are fitted one at a time with the house left secure and weathertight at the end of every day, we never leave an opening overnight.

For commercial premises, entrance doors are specified for far higher traffic and we plan installation around trading hours where we can.

### Things worth knowing before you order
Lead time is a minimum of 10 weeks from order, longer at busier times of year, and we will tell you honestly before you commit.

We do not work on listed or heritage properties, we do not offer finance, and payment is by cash or bank transfer only.

Questions we get asked

## Doors: straight answers
How much is a new UPVC door fitted in your area?It depends on the profile, Eurocell or premium Rehau, the size, the glazing and the hardware you choose. A survey lets us give you an itemised, written quote so you know exactly what's included before you commit.

How long does it take to fit a door?A single door is typically a same-day job on site. The wait is manufacturing: plan on a minimum of 10 weeks from order, and we will give you the honest timescale before you commit.

Will you leave my house open while you work? No. Doors are removed and replaced within the same visit and the property is left secure and weathertight before we leave site.

What is the guarantee on a new door?Insurance-backed through IWA, covering the workmanship and the frames. We are Assured registered and carry full public liability insurance.

How long will a UPVC door last?UPVC does not rot or need repainting, so the life of the door is really the life of its hardware and how squarely it was hung. Ours are hung square, adjusted on the day and guaranteed for a decade.

Should I choose UPVC or composite for the front?Composite is heavier, more solid and holds its finish extremely well; UPVC in Rehau profile is a strong option at a lower cost. We fit both and will tell you which makes sense for your opening and budget rather than pushing the dearer one.

Can the quoted price go up?No. Quotes are fixed and we have never added money to a job once it has started.

Do you fit doors for businesses?Yes: commercial door installations are part of what we do, planned around your trading hours wherever possible.

Which areas do you cover?Staffordshire and the surrounding areas, including the villages in between.

How do I pay for the work?Cash or bank transfer. No credit cards and no finance. Deposits vary with the size and type of job.
